Justin Patrick, Dynamic’s resident expert on all-things-computer-science-and-technology, has been streamlining software solutions for financial services for more than 20 years.

As Dynamic’s chief technology officer, he is the leader behind Dynamic’s own cutting-edge technology and the tech services provided to Dynamic’s advisor clients. He’s been around Dynamic almost as long as Dynamic’s been around, joining the team in 2011.

He moved back to his roots, Waco, Texas, three years ago after 19 years in the Valley of the Sun. Besides working on Dynamic’s latest IT projects, Justin is a guitar player (among other instruments!) and enjoys tinkering with cars and trucks. Being from Waco, he also likes home renovation projects, “Fixer Upper” style…

Q&A:

Q. What’s your role at Dynamic and how do you help support our clients?
A. Chief technology officer. I work to bring efficiencies by combining automation technology and methods with regular processes to ensure that the maximum benefit of the latest technologies can be realized by Dynamic’s team and the advisory practices we service.

Q. What attracted you to Dynamic, and what compels you to work in a profession servicing wealth advisors?
A. I have always loved working with Dynamic because we strive to provide optimized services, and automation and technology solutions to the financial industry. This is a very challenging and interesting task, considering the industry’s various security and compliance restrictions. There are a lot of solutions and services on the market that say one thing but do another.

I like working with advisors at Dynamic because it gives me a chance to find and implement best-in-class technology solutions that exceed the minimum requirements set by the industry. I also get to work with advisors and hear what they need in terms of automation and configuration, and then work with my amazing team to develop, implement and support these solutions to provide efficiencies to advisors and their staff.

Q. Where do you live?
A. I live in Waco, Texas, where I was born and raised, and have been back here for roughly three years. I moved here from Phoenix, where I lived for about 19 years.

Q. What’s your favorite activity?
A. I spend my spare time with my three kids whose ages range from 5 to 14. When I’m not playing with the kids or helping them with school, I like to play music (guitar, bass guitar and keyboard), work on cars, trucks and tractors, and do home renovation projects.

Q. What TV show(s) are you binging right now?
A. I recently finished “Game of Thrones.” I had never seen the last season, and I am currently working on “1883.”

Q. How long is your commute to Dynamic?
A. This is a funny question since Dynamic has been a work-from-home company since day one. However, I would say it generally takes me about two minutes to walk to my office…unless I get caught by the kids, and then it might take longer!
