Get to Know…Kelly McCarthy

February 16, 2021

Kelly McCarthy works in Dynamic’s Advisor Support department in the Concierge role, helping our advisors at a high level of front-office, client-facing service every day. She joined Dynamic in September of last year, coming from a strong background in advisor support at an RIA. She holds a Business Administration degree from the University of Wisconsin and 10 years of multi-faceted experience. Kelly held sales and managerial positions in the financial world, as well as at multiple food and beverage companies such as Frito Lay and Coke U.S.A. She virtually “sits” beside Heather Graham in Concierge Services whose father, by coincidence, attended pharmaceutical meetings with Kelly back in the ‘90s. Talk about six degrees of separation!

Q&A:

Q. How does your role at Dynamic help support our clients?
A. On the Concierge team, I best help clients by making communication a top priority, being a conduit for information, understanding their objectives and providing client engagement that uniquely suits their needs.

Q. What attracted you to Dynamic, and what compels you to work in a profession servicing wealth advisors?
A. With 10 years in the industry, I was looking for a team that would heighten my level of curiosity in regard to what and how I learn. Dynamic has a culture that feels like a startup: flat, agile and constantly improving with a people-first model.
Why advisor support? My father was a banker and passed away in my early 20s. Watching my mom’s interactions with her wealth advisor team through the years and observing what brought her peace of mind is in large part why I sought out advisory support.

Q. Where do you live in the vast Valley of the Sun?
A. Scottsdale. I’ve been a Valley resident since 2006, moving from northern Minnesota.

Q. What’s your favorite activity or hobby?
A. Photography. I love the quest to capture the feeling of what causes us to pause.

Q. What show are you streaming right now?
A. So much COVID streaming! Currently, watching the Netflix series “Workin’ Moms.” Hilarious, great escape that’s expanding the definition of “normal.”

Q. What’s your favorite line from a movie?
A. “Get busy living, or get busy dying.” – Shawshank Redemption

Q. How long is your commute to Dynamic?
A. 9.5 seconds when I pace myself.
